Easter Weekend...

Looking forward to spending the extended holiday working out in the yard (weather permitting) and maybe the truck. I have a couple of garden beds that are waiting for seeds and a lawn thirsty for nutrients. Thinking about starting with some herbs and spice to start making my own teas and the sort. Any ideas or tips please feel free to share!

Also, my final semester of college is coming to a close, have a couple of job interviews lined up throughout next week, hoping to capture at least on of them. Graduation announcements are being sent out tomorrow, let me know if you didn't get one, I might need to update your address.

I am excited about my upcoming trip to Swaziland in May, hopefully it allows me to open up my creative side to start writing more. Once again, any tips or ideas are appreciated!

First Glühwein of the Season!

With the autumn season in full force and as the winter season is soon approaching, I decided to whip up a batch of Austrian Glühwein. The results was good, but the spice mixture needs a bit of tweaking.

The Decision.

Today was pretty productive here at the Bonham residence. Started laying pavers for the backyard patio. While working, I began thinking of the all the projects I would like to finish or start. In thinking of all of the projects around the house I made it a point, in fact, all of the projects are based upon greener living and moving towards independence. I have been interested in decreasing the amount of trash my household is creating along with cutting energy and water usage, in hopes of decreasing the monthly bills. I have a little bit over an acre of property, more than enough space to have some chickens and a nice sized food plot, maybe a cow as well. All of these items would be great to have, but I am unsure where to begin, I have little knowledge of sustainable farming, but I have experience working around livestock and constructing buildings. I am not sure if any of you fellow bloggers have a community or such with Google+ that I could learn some farming tips. Note that I am in Oklahoma, so maybe some helpful information about growing in Oklahoma. Thanks for reading.

Life never ceases.

Two-thirds of the semester has passed, school work is ever constant and never dwindling. But life goes on. The past week has been quite stressful with factors coming from both home and school life. On a good note though, I have found employment with a local consulting firm analyzing data and figuring trends. So far it has been enjoyable and every day brings new challenges. The job has got me interested in expanding my scope from actuarial science to other careers in mathematics, hopefully something will be available come May 2014.

I am thinking about traveling a bit right after graduation, hopefully back in Europe, but also considering Canada or Africa. Any ideas would be great!

And so the last year begins...

We are now three weeks into the school year, my final year of full time academics. The journey has been exciting. Many ups, many downs, great memories, and bad memories. It is hard to believe the majority of life still is waiting to be lived. Life continues everyday.

Studying for the first actuary exam has been difficult, not because of the material, but because it is separate from my school work. I will soon be spending most of my evenings study for the exam instead of socializing with friends. Though I feel that it is well wroth my time to study, and then to pass the exam. I need to pass the exam, my future career path depends on the passing of this first exam.

I am excited for my senior year of college. I feel many great memories are lurking around every corner. Spending time building up friendships to last lifetimes is what the final year is all about. After graduation who knows how many exciting people you may meet and start friendships with. It is difficult to not worry too much about life after graduation, about finding a job, about finding that special someone. Everyday we face challenges in decisions about our futures, however big or small, we need to always remember to live in the moment. We shall never live in this moment ever again. Every minute is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
